David and I are retired physicians. To keep abreast of medical developments, we attend Grand Rounds at Wake Hospital every week, and try to keep abreast of medical literature. Our Growing Interest in ComputersIn September 1999 we purchased a computer for home use and since have taken numerous courses through Wake Tech to advance our knowledge. I ventured into the world of programming languages and animations. I designed this site in Adobe Go Live and a second website in XHTML . Here is a link to it. In FlashMX I learned enough to design yet another website, which in essence is a little movie. It is a photographic album about some of the children of family and friends. If you want to see it, click here and you start the movie by pressing the Play button. You can stoshe volunteers to impart her knowledgep the movie, and scroll through text. In 2006 my high school class had its 50th reunion (hard to believe!). I am "webmaster for our class website, and I hope to keep it up through our next 30 years! Spanish ClassI used to meet with a group of ladies, all former classmates from the Spanish classes we took through Wake Tech. We met once a week to converse in the language. Unfortunately, life got in the way and our "tertulia" is no more. One of my "companeras", Julie, and I had taken Spanish Intermediate through Wake Tech, and now get together frequently to practice. I maintain another website and there is a page about our "tertulia" on that site. Occasionally I meet other former classmates at meetings of the Spanish speaking group through meetup.com. Now I am taking Spanish lessons at the home of Patricia, whom I met at meetup. She is very energetic and a lot of fun.My Spanish is improving by leaps and bounds. I also go to Verb Night, which is managed by Ramsey, who volunteers to do this in addition to her regular job as a teacher. she is very kind and friendly. Every night I watch the Spanish soap operas on Univision, but I have to admit it is very frustrating for me. Although I watch the soaps faithfully, I can't get the gist of what is being said. I'm beginning to get the feeling that like Charlie Brown, I keep struggling to kick the ball, but it keeps being pulled away from me! David's HobbiesDavid pursues an active interest in the Internet, gardening, photography, and working out at the gym. He has taken the vast majority of the pictures you will see if you continue reading our website. Unfortunately, he isn't in many of the pictures. I guess that's the price he has to pay for being the only one who knows how to use the camera well. David volunteers once a week at the Museum of Sciences. MikeOur son, Mike, is now living in uptown Dallas. He is single, and works as a computer programmer. He found a position that he really liked with Moroch, an advertising agency. They liked him as well, and now he is working full time with this company. It is not far from where he lives and he can walk to work. He joined the local art museum and attends many functions there. He owns property on a lake near Gunbarrel, Texas, and spends his weekends there. He has a boat, and when the lake level is high enough he goes boating as often as he can. We visit Mike as often as we can and the details of those visits are on our "Family" page or "Trips" Page to which you can connect by clicking on the word "Trips" here or by returning to the Navigation Bar at the top of this page. We would like to hear from you. Please email us at one of our two addresses. |
One of the things I learned in Photoshop and Imageready was to make animations in those programs as well as in Adobe Go Live, LiveMotion, and Flash. One year David's sister sent him an adorable birthday card which featured a squirrel with a camera. Just click on this link and you will see what a metamorphosis can be accomplished!
